I am married for 3years now and last week I tested hiv negative and the three previous test were also negative but my wife is 2months pregnant and yesterday she tested hiv positive please explain to me how this happened

The test should be repeated.

No test is 100%. If the results of any test are suspect, then the test should be repeated.

Make sure the proper test is being conducted. There are several test for HIV status, make sure she is having the correct one conducted.

hi man

you should determine last time you had unprotected sex,then 90 days after last sex,do 4th generation elissa test,if negative it means you are negative,,the chance for getting hiv very low by vaginal sex,every time you had sex you had 1/2500 chance to get infection,so there are large chance to be negative.
