Why is only the top surface of my tongue always irritated and dry?

-My salivary glands work just fine and produce an adequate amount of saliva. Also, i have near to perfect oral hygiene and i drink plenty of water so i am not dehydrated in anyway. I have never been on any medications. Also i take all my vitamins, alpha-lipoic acid, eat healthy, exercise frequently and am in great shape. I have no anxiety disorders or anything stress related. I am 20 years old. I have tried dry mouth remedies and washes, as well as biotene products. Nothing seems to help my sore and dry tongue (just on top) the bottom of my tongue is comfortable and moist.

Please help, i have talked to my dentist, health physician, orthodontist, pereodontist etc. and can't seem to find a solution.

Thankyou dearly in advance!

Hi.....if u feeling dryness right after sleep that suggests mouth breathing.Check ur blood glucose levels once.Chewing gum may hep and avoid lemon jiuce as it depletes the saliva from ur salivary gland.
