Q: Why cant i get pregnant

i am 20 yrs old and i havent been using protection with my fiance for about 10 months, and i still have not gotten pregnant how do i know if i can have kids? and ever since i have stopped using protection i have been getting alot of bacterial infections and my period has been very inregular. my fiance read an article that i might have a condition that with my bacterial infections it can stop me from getting pregnant. is that true how can i find out?
