Hi i am 14 years old and i have started my period this year back in january of 2011, and now it is the end of june and i am getting a light spotting of brownish red stuff in my underwear and when i wipe after going to the bathroom. I have already had my period this month at the very begining and it only lasted for one day, I think it was cause i was sick just earlier that week. So far my periods have been pretty regular, but the longest ive had it was 4-5 days and i usually have it for only 1 day. So i was wondering why am i getting spotting now if i already had my period? It's kinda freaking me out and i have NEVER had intercourse EVER. please help D:

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
Sometimes periods pattern can be changed due to stress, hormonal imbalances, lifestyle changes, changes in exercise levels, diet, anovulatory cycles (menstrual cycles without periodic egg release from ovary), anemia, etc. During early puberty, you can have large gaps between periods and abnormal periods as well. You should consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist to rule out chances of infection, hormonal imbalances as cause for underlying period abnormality. Treatment as needed would be started based on examination and investigation results to help you get back your periods and regulate them.
Take care.
