white spots on MRI

My mom was admitted to the hospital Monday with severe back pain. They did an MRI and saw a "lot" of white spots. Her L7 vertebra is said to look "mushy". A follow up bone scan and bone biopsy were done, so I know they are looking at cancer. She is 79 with stage IV non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (in remission). I believe it is unusual for there to be multiple types of cancer going at at one time. I am trying to find out if bone mets are logical, or if we might be dealing with a bone cancer. Can anyone help?

Hi scubagirl2805,

The only way to know for sure is to wait for the results of the tests. I will be thinking and praying that all goes well.

God Bless,
