Hello... I am a 55 year old woman who is beginning to think I have ms. I was first taken to emergency with some symptoms that were pretty severe. I had a "fuzzy" feeling in my head.. imbalance, weakness in my arms and legs and about three weeks before had experienced up and down double vision for about 3 minutes. In past months I have had trouble remembering, and have been so tired at times that all I can do is make it to the bed. I am a person who has lived her life very busy and loved it, but now the slightest bit of stress seems to make me shake in the arms and head, and bring on the fuzzy headed feeling along with the imbalance. I also have a history of being very cold, but now I get so hot. Not hot flashes, but in response to drinking a cup of herb tea or having covers put on me. I was given an MRI In emercency, and they saw the white matter in the brain. They also thought they saw an aneurism, and a cyst... however the neurosurgeon Who read this test said the resolution was so bad that he could not tell. He ruled out the two above factors, and ordered a second testwith a much better machine. I received the following report. Impression: 1. Asymetry is noted of the lateral ventricles with the right lateral ventricle appearing slightly larger than the left lateral ventricle. 2. Numerous subcentimeter foci of high signal seen on FLAIR sequences withing the corona radiata, centrum semiovale, and subcortical white matter of the frontal lobes, parietal lobes, and temporal lobes. The etiology for these findings is uncertain. The differential diagnosis includes a demyelinating process such as multiple sclerosis. 3. No evidence of abnormally enhancing lesions withing the cerebrum, cerebellum, brainstem, or extraaxial structures.
This is the third time MS has been mentioned as a possiblilty, but I do not know about this language. I have been at this with no relief of these symptoms for nearly two months and have no appointment with neurologist for another two weeks. Not a patient person.. what do you think?
