Is it normal to have a white coating on the back of your tounge? It almost looks like plaque and is only on the back of my tounge. It is a solid coating. I have googled thrush and it does not look like the patchy- spotted pics I have seen of oral thrush. When I brush it off, it does not bleed or hurt as they say it should with thrush... and my palpilee (sp) on the back, the large ones are red, then the rest is white in the back. I am not sure if it usually looks like that or not. I only started really looking when I had my sore throat... sorry this is so long just want to be detailed.

I went to the doc because along with the "white tounge" I have had throat irritation as well. I asked my doc if it looked like oral thrush and she said no. she did say that I had post nasal drip...nut my symptoms are still coming and going...

umm
usually when I get that it is due to dehydration. try drinking lots of fluids and see if in a few hrs that has helped you at all.
