Q: White bumps on tonsils

About 5 day's ago I had an odd feeling on my tonsil, like when you get food stuck at the back of your mouth kind of feeling, and yesterday I decided to take a look in the mirror and see what it is. It is a white cyst like bump (about 2mm) on my right tonsil, there is no pain or any discomfort coming from there and I've never in my life had tonsil stones, I do smoke (for about 2 years now) and I drink (not often, mainly at parties), and was just wondering if any of you can help me out and to see if I need to go to the doctors.

It's most likely a tonsillolith (tonsil stone). They are usually completely harmless. You can squeeze them out or use some sort of instrument to pull them out. I am able to just squeeze them out. I know when I have one because it feels like something is in the back of my throat. Once you pull it out you will have instant relief. Just realize there is likely more then just the surface one that is causing your irritation. You have to squeeze a bit to get it all out as those crypts are very deep.
