Whipple surgury post op

My father had the whipple done in September 2010 and is going through chemo. The doctors did a ct and no cancer was found. He went into the er Friday with abdominal pain and jandice. By the end of the night the bilirubin count went down 2 points. Today they are back to normal. They doctors do not feel any more test are necessary, there was a blockage and he passed what every it was, "don't worry about it". Should I have them look for anything in particular, is this normal?
