Q: Which POP is best?

I'm currently on Seasonique and very happy on it. However my new doctor is concerned about a genetic condition that I have that makes me prone to clots. I have never had one but she feels I'm playing russian roulette by staying on a combo pill. She has suggested I switch to a progestin only pill or find a new doctor (since she can't ethically prescribe my combo pill, which I understand). I got a second opinion and was told to switch. So my question is what POP will give me the same effect as Seasonique/Seasonale? Normally I wouldn't care but I'm getting married in a year and definitely don't want to deal with my period on my big day. Any suggestions? (Oh & depo is definitely not an option) Thanks! Very Happy

Seasonique is a combined (estrogen progesterone) contraceptive drug. Estrogen component is responsible for many side effects including unwanted blood cloting (thrombosis). POPs contain only progesterone and they cause less side effects than combined pills. POP are less effective than combined pills but that effectivness is still very high (over 97%). POP should be taken every day in the same time without 7 days pause or placebo pills.
