Where once was an ingrown hair, now just a scar with no follicle

I have had ingrown hairs on my penis before, but I had one a couple of days ago that really was bothering me so I went to remove it. Unfortunately, in doing so, I cut the follicle and it began to bleed. The follicle has closed up and there's a scar in it's place with no trace of the ingrown hair that was once there. The skin itself doesn't appear infected, and isn't sore. Should I be concerned that the hair is stuck underneath the skin?
