My Doctor was forced to resign, and the clinic won't be keeping his patients, nor will they be filling any prescriptions. i'v been on blood pressure medication, and a pain medication for 7 years. I was given a little less than 30 days to find a new doctor. Upon calling around, I've been told that as a new patient, your first visit is basically a consultation, and at that time they will order your records from your previous Dr/Clinic then they will evaluate your records once they receive them, and at that time they will call and set up a second appointment. It is at that time once everything is checked out, that they can begin prescribing your medication. It can take some time for that to happen depending on how long it takes for them to receive your records. Is there a certain amount of time that the Clinic/Dr is responsible for notifying you so that you have enough time to find a new doctor? Is the clinic responsible for making sure that your medications are filled so that there isn't any interruption of your medications?
Thank you,
Scott
