Whats wrong with my immune system? Im 19, I'm 71 kgs, I eat healthily, I exercise regularly, I get enough sleep (8-10 hrs), Im not overly stressed.. But in the last 2 years I have got sick every 3-5 weeks with recurring symptoms. I don't get majorly sick, infact I have only been sick enough to stay home form work or university once in the last 2 years, I just get really swollen lymph glands, that flu feeling, sometimes a blocked nose, and pressure in my head. Always exactly the same symptoms. I did something stupid with someone (had unprotected sex), but I have since had a STD screen and was cleared of everything. My concern is obviously in regards to STDs HIV, but I have been cleared of that. What is the chances of getting a false negative?
What else could potentially cause these symptoms? I could have vitamin d deficiency because that appears to be hereditary. This is the only part of my life that stresses me. What do you think?

my blood tests came back normal, i was tested negative for hiv again. My doctor had a look at my tongue and it was covered in white stuff with chunky bits at the back and i had sore lymph nodes in my neck. So she thought it was a sinus infection and prescribed clarythromiacin... I felt really good a couple days later, but since then my white tongue has got alot worse and i feel really tired and my glands are sore again.

Are there any strains of hiv that a blood test would not detect?

well do you have any ideas on what it could be? Is it just coincidental that my health declined after a high risk situation. If i have chronic thrush infections, what could be causing them? What is compromising my immune system?

Hang on. So you are saying that the blood tests do test CD4 levels? Also does the test respond to all strains of HIV? I dont understand, surely there are undetected strains?

Ok, so how could worrying about having hiv cause a fungal infection. Surely it couldnt compromise my immune system that much.
