My question is whether or not you get prescribed narcotics for stitches. I am in Canada. So I know everywhere is different. What type of painkillers are normaly prescribed for stitches, how many and for how long. What is the strength and how many times a day is the usual ammount? This is pertaining to someone needing more than 10 stitches, deep wound. So I am just asking in general what pain med would be prescribed for that type of situation? Thank you, ~MelODDic~

Usually none are given. Advil should be enough. I would not bother even asking for them. The wound should not be painful enough after stitches.
