IN caregiving i know that i have many fond memories---last summer(im a fishing nut) we took the guys out fishing---just to see the joy on their face when they got a fish was priceless! Not only that but the fact that they looked to me for approval for a good job done was awesome---i really matter to those guys----knowing that i make life better for them and that they love me for that makes life totally worth it. even though to a lot of people i may just be the girl down the street. to them im family and they are the same to me
The fondest memory I have of my patients was to sit and listen to them talk about the old days, their life and loves. Also that they said things to me they couldn't their own family members. They really trusted me. I miss them a lot..
well like the good old days---you know--the romantic horse and buggy stuff---now we just hop in a car and speed to a restaurant---romance was so different back then---that kind of stuff--the nostalgia of it all----sorry a little cheesy but id like it lol
I enjoy chatting with the residents when I am cleaning their rooms. Some of them have great stories and an amazing sense of humor. I always feel better when I can make them smile.
