What is spotting? What is the origin of spotting in the body? I read in an enclyapidia,Health and Wellness Library of Time Life, that "cervical polyps may cause irregular bleeding and discharge...and that they often develop after an infection as the body tries to heal itself by growing cells to cover old, inflamed ones. Polyps also form during pregnancy and in women who take birth-control pills, as a result of hormonal changes that stimulate the overgrowth of tissue?" Is this why we spotting? Is this what spotting is and comes from?

the body is like a wonderful machine it sometimes let us know that something is wrong. for example i was spotting so i went to the doctor and found out i have a cyst on my ovary.
i started bleeding heavy with large clots, and i found out i have dysfunctional uterine bleeding. eventhough the doctors took months on tests to rule things out. i had to get a hysteroscopy (camera in uterus). and d&c (scraping lining of uterus). i also had to get on the birth control pill to regulate my period.
so the cyst made me spot. and the lining of my uterus was thick and caused heavy bleeding. i m also over weight and have high blood pressure that also causes my problem.
