what does it mean when sex is painful?

Im not a doctor but most of the time when it hurts i need more lubercation. Try a water based lube. If he is too big try looking up positions that restrict him. I have the same prolem, because my boyfriend is too big..go figure..lol

The reason I asked because, I read that 4.5" to 7.5"
are average sizes and anything less is considered small and anything more is considered large.
My penis is 5.5" long when erect and it gets the job done quite well, but I wouldn't mind having an 8" penis

lol eh. theyre not such a big deal. my ex bf of 3yrs was 6" and he performed just fine. Same as 8".. its really is how you use it..besides he pleases me more through oral than sex..never had a vag orgasm. not even by myself.
