We're thinking of naming our baby girl BLISS.

What do you think of this name??

Its alright...I wouldn't name my child that but wouldn't laugh at someone for naming their child that.

I would feel sorry for the child.

It puts pressure on them, raises expectations, ifyouknowwhatImean.

Naming a child anything like Bliss, Beauty, Poet, etc. etc. etc. - names that are nouns or adverbs or adjectives that are clearly descriptive. The chances of it being ill-fitting are too big, and teasing seems inevitable.

Giving a name that means Bliss would be an alternative (like, in the language it's from)?!

This, exactly. I'd hate to be named Bliss because it would suit me horribly and I'd feel like I had to be blissful all the time.

What about Joy or Felicity, which also mean happiness, but are more common as names?
