I wanted to name our little girl Sophia,
but have decided against it because it is
very popular right now. So, I am thinking
of Anna Sophia.
Recently, however, someone just told me
that there is a childhood actress with
this name. I admit that I am out of the
loop when it comes to pop culture things
like this, but I had no idea.
Do you think that everyone is going to
think that my daughter is named after this
actress? And what do you think of the
name in general?

The child actress is Annasophia, not Anna
Sophia, and I wouldn't assume your
daughter was named after her. If you
really like the name, use it.
My name is Anna, and I think it's a good
name. The combo Anna Sophia is pretty. I
like girls' names where both the first and
the middle name end with a.

I love Anna Sophia. Are you using it as a
double-barrel first name. I love names
like that...(like Mary Claire, Mary Kate,
Anne Marie, etc..). The child actress is
named AnnaSophia Robb. I like it better
like Anna Sophia. AnnaSophia looks cramped
and Anna Sophia looks clean and
sophisticated. She was the actress in
"Because of Winn-Dixie", "Bridge to
Terabithia", and the new "Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory".
I ADORE the name Anna, I think it is just
about perfect. It sounds so heavenly to
me.

My friend's daughter's name is Anna
Sophia. She'll 11. It has a lovely,
elegant ring to it!

I LOVE Anna Sophia. I wouldn't have
assumed that you named her after the
actress, they're two completely different
spellings. And, like you said, Anna
Sophia are two common names. I love it.
I say go with it.
