How did you come up with the name? Do you use a nickname? What was the "almost name"?

What do you plan to call baby #2?

I'll go first.

I have a lovely little Adelaide. Until she was born I'd planned to call her Georgia (George is a family name), but once I held her I just didn't feel like she was a Georgia. Adelaide had been on my list since the beginning of my pregnancy and it just felt like a good fit.

Nickname: Lady (or Laide-y, I suppose).

I dislike the nickname Addy, since there are so many little addy/maddy's (addison, madison, madalyn) running around. I had planned to use Ada as her nn but she was such a little Lady (read: demanding priss) that Lady just sort of stuck.

Almost name: Georgia Victoria

Sibling:

If I ever give her a sister (in 10 or so years!) I'd love to use Penelope (Penny or Ellie), Elisabeth (Betsy), Georgia or Clara.

Okay, now you go!

We plan on naming ours either Emerson Jude, boy, or Adeline Prudence. Can you guess the motifs?! If you do, you're my best friend! If not, I guess I must share.

As far as nicknames, Em, Emmers, E.J. And sorry, but for Adeline I love Addie!

As far as other names, Morrison, Quinton, Quinn, Lennon, Anabell, Guendolyn, Gueniviere, Guenivive, and many more.

Baby number two will get one of those with the same motif!

I LOVE ADELINE! So much! In fact, it may have been Adelaide's name had I not worried about pron. issues. Are you pronouncing this Ade-line (like draw a line on paper), Ade-leen, or ade-lyn? I think the proper way is ade-leen... but I'm not totally sure. I would have gone with Ade-LINE

I adore your taste in girl's names. Gwendolyn, Guinevere (Evie) and Genevieve (Evie) were all on my early lists. I didn't have the guts to use them, but I love them.

I also have much love for Jude.

Well because we took Adeline (intially Adelynn before I found it) from a Poe poem, it is prounounced adel-line, to fit the rhyme scheme. :]

Emerson is after Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Jude & Prudence are from Beetles songs, and we plan to give all of our children Beetle middle names.

The other names are writers, or from poems and stories.

I am a music/lit dork! Haha

Another name I LOVE and forgot to mention is Avangeline.

So I guess you're pronouncing it with the lyn sound? that's pretty.

Also, they're the Beatles (not beetles) ;D

And yes, Evangeline is lovely (that's definitely one i pronounce with the leen sound. Most spelt with a -line I intuitively pronounce as lyn but prefer LINE, that's why i'd never have the nerve to use em!)

I named my boy Adam.

Tristan was a first choice but his last name begins with T and I really don't like the alliteration thing with names.

I chose Adam #1 because of the author Douglas Adams who I find truly amazing
#2 because sin gave birth to him (not a fan of his mother =P)
#3 love the name Smile

Haha did I really say Beetles?! Oh my, that's what happens when I'm up past my bedtime of..... 8pm! Hahaha

We'll pronounce it like 'line' as in the poem "Am redolent of thee and thine/ Enthralling love, my Adeline."

I love the name Tristan! Like Tristan & Isolde :] great literature too, and a decent movie as well.

My first we named Thomas Jeffery. I could not come up with a name so I told my mom to name him. Thomas is for my son's father and Jeffery is my step dad's middle name. He has always been called TJ tho.

Second we agreed quickly on a name (me and husband) and that was Christian Jacob. We choose that because its biblical. No nick name at this point.

Third was almost named Abel as in Cain and Abel. I did not like that name at all. We agreed on Andrew Brady. Andrew because it biblical and Brady because I always liked Brady from Days of Our Lives (what can I say). No nick name.

Fourth and final we agreed on quickly again. Jeremiah James. Another set of biblical names. No nick names.

I don't have any children yet, but have the first two names picked out, if no one minds. If it's a girl, she'll be named Katie Marie ____ (Last name), and a boy will be named Andrew Rocco _____ (Last name). The middle names are our middle names respectively.

My sons name is Zachary Dylan.. he was named after my brothers (older brother Kyle Dyan) (younger brother Ian Zachary) Thus Zachary Dylan... he goes by Zachary, Zach, or Zee...

If I had chosen not to name him after my brothers I wanted to name him Parker.

If he was a girl his (her) name would have been Cassandra Brynn

We named our daughter Mika Charlotte. I heard the name Mika on a tv show about 2 years before i got pregnant and it just kinda stuck with me and Charlotte is my big sister's first name.
I had loads of names! Our original choise was Laila then Dom decided he didn't like that anymore and then we decided on Liliah but then i decided i didn't want that anymore then i wanted either Analei or Erica but Dom didn't and then i said we're calling her Mika and that's that!
As for any future children we have i'm not sure, we've dcided that if we have another child/ren that we'd find out the sex at the 20 weeks scan then we'd each think of two or three names we like but not tell each other then when he/she is born we'll tell eachother our name ideas and name them at the hospital

I have a 14 month old Daughter called RAVEN IRIS and I'm nearly 9months pregnant with our second Daughter who we have named SKYLA GRACE.

I miscarried twins just before having my 1st daughter and if one of them had been a boy he would have been EDEN RALPH TIMOTHY

I don't have any children, but when I do, these are the names I like. I'm not sure about middle names. Elizabeth has been passed down in the family on my moms side for generations, but I really don't know if I want to carry that on or not.

Girl:
Emma
Lillian

Boy:
Gabriel
Skylar

we named our daughter Emma Jacqueline because Emma was the only name we could agree on and Jacqueline is my moms name. We don't have any nic names that pertain to her name but we call her our "bug" because my mom started calling her that and i guess it just stuck. If we have another girl we want to name her either Sophie Lorraine (Lorraine is his mother's name) or Ava Lorraine. If its a boy we can't agree on anything but Alexandre Michael (Michael after my dad) or Yanic Michael. I really like Elijah, Jacob, Lucas or Aiden for boys names but Serge refuses those flat out....our children have to have names that are easily pronounced in French because most of his family are French or have a strong accent
