I have small red dry patches all over my legs. I went to a dermatoligist and he did a biopsy and said it wasn't cancer but couldn't tell what it was. I want them gone! they are ugly! I use moisturizer after I shower, but that isn't helping. Some just scratch off others get scabby if I scratch, so I just leave them. Help.

red dry spots on legs
He told me to use this jel soap instead of regular soap when I shower and don't use shaving cream. He did not offer me any cream, and beyond the shower and shave comment he did just scratch his head. Maybe I should ask my regular Dr. for steroid cream?

u did not need a Dermatologist Specialist to scratch his head; yes your reg dr should be better and in your case; just about any quick care clinic dr would have been better.
u might want to look up rashes; there r hundreds
u might want to look up treatments for all that seem similar to your rash
u can use cortisone creams over the counter\
u might want to learn something about eczema and psoriasis
ANY other problems like G.I. or hay fever, asthma, acne, yeast

red dry patches on legs
I have asthma and eczema. What is on my legs isn't the
same as the eczema I have on my hands or that I had on my arms and behind my knees when I was a kid. My husband had psoriasis and this is not like that either. I thought it might ringworm because it was round, but it is not weepy, just dry patches and lots of them the size of an eraser on the top of a pencil? Very weird and very ugly.

all those things go together as autoimmune; try this go to a vitamin store and must be vitamin store because u want ultra high culture counts of probiotics enough to take 100 billion daily for a week minimum NOT MILLION
your gut has about three pounds of such as your immune system which is in the trillions or at least should be and what u want is to give the system a KICK START
good luck and if it works u might want to keep up probiotics for months be it at a lesser amount AND DON'T TAKE SAME TIME AS ANTIBIOTICS, separate three hours so as not to cancel each other out

i too suffer from Psoriasis however these circle dry patches are not the same, and I have had them for about 8 months with them becoming more prominent and plentiful...I have not visited my dermatologist in a long time but my son who is a health and wellness chiropractor did say to go back to using my probiotics, increase them for awile and see how it goes..just beginning that treatment and decided to try and over the counter or my psoriasis cream on them..I am so not good at taking care of my self when I need to ..but glad to read that what I probably am dealing with other s do as well...i have an occasional patch her and there on my arm ut the cirlces are mainly on my thighs...i am on pure fish oil as well..

RED ROUND DRY SPOTS ON LEGS
I started getting the same thing about 5 months ago. My doctor did a scraping and it wasnt a bacterial infection. Like you I thought it was ringworm but its not.

He gave me the cortisone cream which does help but won't get rid of it. It is now spreading to my other leg.

I have been on a big detox now for 6 weeks thinking that would help along with other body issues (I have PVNS Tumours) and I agree its autoimmune but what has triggered something like this to occur when I have not had this all my life. I also suffered from an auto immune issue which was endometriosis.

my scaly patches are spreading everywhere!
A few months ago I developed a pencil eraser sized red, scaly patch on my shin. I got a staph infection at the same time next to my eye and in my belly button. Antibiotics and cream fixed those within 3 days. But the patch on my leg keeps growing. My dermatologist thought it was basal cell carcinoma and did a biopsy last week. I haven't got the results back yet but I think she was wrong as now my whole back and large areas on both legs and chest are now covered with the same thing. I am so uncomfortable I can't wait for the results. What could this be? I haven't changed shampoo or soap in ages.
