i have suffered from what the doctor diagnosed as severe cronic depression my whole life though i no longer take medication for it. i am also known to have occational anxiety attacks that usualy last 10-15 min. recently i started taking yaz birth control and over the past couple of days i have had 4 anxiety attacks lasting 30 min to an hour. they are more painful than before and i keep crying for no reason. is this normal when taking birth control? should i stop taking it?

I have never taken Yaz before...I have been taking Cesia for about a year now...Very low horomonal birth control.

I have been on medication for anxiety and went off of it in September and until this week I never had another panic attack. The birth control I have has never affected my attacks. I started taking it after I started taking Lexipro, which was used for my anxiety and panic disorder I have.

I do not know if the birth control is causing this, I was sharing my experience, but I wish you the best of luck...Those panic attacks are not fun. I am starting my Lexipro again tomorrow. Take care!
