Q: Welt on vulva and dots on penis
asked by: DoctorQuestion on October 25th, 2009
Hello,
Well my condom fell out inside my partner during sex and she took an after pill but that morning she said she was bleeding and she said she had a small welt looking thing on her vulva and I was wondering if it was something for me to worry about?? since I appear to have tinny dots on my penis and they also told her at the urgent care clinic it was nothing to worry about so I wanted to kno what to do.This took place the 10/23/09 this past Friday night

Hello and welcome to eHealth Forum!

The appearance of a red welt on vagina and tiny lesions on penis in presence of a history of unprotected sex should be investigated for genital herpes, which is a STD. These lesions may or may not itch. The other STDs which should also be thought of are chancroid, syphilis, molluscum contagiosum, and venereal warts. Hence a STD panel should be done for both the partners.

It can also be allergy to the latex of a condom if you have used that brand for the first time. Since both you and your partner have lesions on your private parts, it is important to rule out STD first.

Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please discuss these possibilities with your doctor once. Hope this helps. Take care!
