Wellbutrin and Prozac combo OK ? Posted: 03-04-08 19:56pm
I just started on a combo of Wellbutrin
75mg and Prozac 2mg. Anyone on something
similar? I am a little afraid of taking
them both and don't want to have a seizure
or some horrible health problem! I have a
new MD and have not built trust in him
yet. I have minimum to moderate
depression, off and on bulimia for many
years, and always yelling at my kids (i
feel so bad afterwards).
I also take Xanax 1 mg at night to help me
sleep and i wake up feeling groggy. I am
a night person and like to stay up late
but my kids are early risers... maybe i am
just really tired from not getting enough
sleep or maybe it's the Xanax?? Maybe the
Xanax is also making me emotional and
impatient with the kids??? Let me know of
your experiences please!! Thanks!

Wow, hold on a second. Sometimes doctors
just think we are guinea pig pill boxes.
Maybe you can talk to you your doctor
about getting one thing that fits all your
problems. I would be afraid of taking
that many too...especially since your
depression isn't severe.
I have 6 kids and I know what it's like
not to sleep well. I don't remember the
last time I was happy to wake up. Ever.
I think it's just natural to impatient
with the kids, but I'm not sure if the
meds are contributing to that or not. I
yell at my kids too. I'm a whole lot
better than I used to be about it. I
think it's a combination of know that it
doesn't really work and it's more
counter-productive, and I just don't have
the energy. Just think of how big you
look to them already and then add the
yelling part. Yup, pretty scary already
without the yelling.
I was on Prozac and it didn't do a thing
for me. It all depends on the person I
guess. Maybe you could take tyenol PM or
"allergy medication" (Benedryl) which is
the same thing as Tylenol without the
acetaminophen to sleep at night instead of
something as strong as the Xanex.

I agree withmominashoe here. That is an
aweful lot of anti-depressents your on. I
my self take Lexepro, Klonopin, and
Lemictal for Bipolar disorder. I though
that was bad enough. I even have an RX for
Xanax for severe attacks which I try and
stay away from and really have not needed
since put on Lemictal. I agree, doctors
keep trying to put you on the right
combination but, sometime that combination
is not right for you. Took me 4 years to
get it right. Just be careful and I for
one question everything my doctor gives me
and if it is compatable with what I am
taking and if she feels I really need it.
Play it safe!
