weird cramping/pain where i think my badder/uterus is

User Profile
Hello I have weird cramping/pain where i think my badder/uterus is. The pain begain after i had my DD 5 months ago. I asked my midwife about it at my 6 week visit and she said it was just crampping from the uterus shrinking back to size.
Well i still still have the pain in the mornings for a few hours, but now it makes the front of my pelvis feel numb, almost painful though.
I thought it might be from a full bladder but I feel it with or without a full bladder... Is this something that I should be worried about, or is it one of the things that i should learn to live with after having a baby?

P.S. I am breastfeeding and do not have my period yet, so its not cramping from my cycle.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
The persistent abdominal/pelvic cramps that you describe could be suggestive of possibility of endometriosis, adenomyosis, ovarian cysts, presence of retained bits of products of conception, endometrial polyps, uterine fibroids etc. You should consider visiting a gynecologist/obstetrician (not GP/midwife) for further evaluation to look for the underlying cause. You might have to go ahead with investigations like ultrasound scan, pelvic examination etc., to help with confirming the underlying cause. Get started on appropriate treatment as indicated by examination and investigations results. Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately.
Take care.
