Recently diagnosed with Chrones and had 10 inches of small bowel removed. I lost 27 lbs during the time I was sick before I knew what was wrong with me. It has been 7 weeks since my surgery, will I gain any weight back?

Hopefully you will. What did the doctor say? You are being seen by a specialist right? Are you on medication for your condition?

If you want more information about Crones disease, you can look up the Crones and Colitis foundation. You can also look through other medical websites. This is going to be a life-long condition, so you should get all the information you can so you can manage it and participate in making decisions about your care. Surgery doesn't cure Crones, but it should make it better, along with other treatment.

A friend of mine who I went to school with has had Crones for a while. He's doing really well right now. In fact, he just got married last weekend. In other words, this is a manageable condition and you can still have a life.

I wish you the very best.
