So, I'm on the implan Implanon (in the arm, modern day Noraplant) it caused me to gain almost 50 lbs in a year, and also KILLED my sex drive. My question is, to anyone who has had this expierence with ANY type of b/c (shot, pill patch etc) when you discontinued the use of the contraceptive, did your sex drive come back and/or did you lose the weight? I also haven't had a period in over a year and while some may argue all the research I've ahd to do so far with my nursing studies says it's very unhealthy to not have so much as break through bleeding... nurse
(I'm having it taken out tomorrow (wed the 17th) I haven't had any success with it, and am very dissatisified, however don't let my expierence deter you if you're thinking about it, what works for one person doesn't always from another)

Weight gain and menstrual irregularities are common side effects of most hormonal contraceptives.
More frequent or longer heavier bleeding, or spotting or no bleeding at all, are changes in menstrual bleeding, experienced after insertion of Implanon, like the most common side effect.
Low sexual drive is less common side effect of Implanon, too.
After removal of Implanon, hormone concentrations decrease rapidly by one week.
