I used to be on the pill for about 4 years and came off due to medical reasons. I was off oral contraception for about 6/7 months but I am in a new relationship and have been on cerazette, a mini pill. I am not used to having a pill where i dont have a break, but as my friend is on it i thought it would be ok. Once finishing the first pack i carried on taking the next. Now i am almost 2 weeks late for my period and wasnt sure if this is just my body getting used to it? I have been having all the normal signs of period-ness; stomach cramps, mood swings etc... I also have a bit of a cold, however all the time i was on the pill before i have never skipped a period.

I have had unprotected sex (since being on the pill), only once and he withdrew. I used to have unprotected sex whilst on the pill with my last partner and was fine. I am always very careful and have not missed a pill or been late taking it.

I am getting very worried now and dont know what to do. Is there a chance i could be pregnant? And is it too early to do a pregnancy test?

If you have been consistently taking your pill, then your chances of being pregnant are less than 1%. However, most doctors say to wait at least a month to have sex when starting the pill.

Your body most likely is just getting used to the new hormones. It may take a few months for it to fully adjust. Don't assume anything yet.

If you'd like, you can take a test 17-18 days after having intercourse; otherwise, you could always wait a few more months to see if your period comes. If not, you may want to see your doctor.
