We were trying to conceive, and it was our first month trying. I was having some gastro-intestinal issues. So I had a hpt done on a Monday...got a negative. Did on Tuesday...negative. So, I schedule a test (a lot of x-rays taken on a 3 hour period, while you drink a pretty bad cold glass of who knows what, for the following day, a Wednesday. I remember clearly everything that happened that week.
So, Thursday came, and I had scheduled a visit at my obgyn to see how to increase our chances of conceiving. They asked to just do a blood test, as it had been around 10 days since I had a positive OPK. I did, knowing it was going to be negative.
Guess what? On Friday, the very next day, I had a BIG FAT POSITIVE! But can you imagine the problem? I had x-rays done the day before the blood test was done. On Saturday, my second day as a mother-to-be, I find myself at the ER with excruciating pain. I thought I was going to lose the baby. I suffered for 3 months with pain, then, and until now, I suffer mentaly....just with the thought that my son could have/ could have had any complications. Thank God he is healthy, and to make things better, he has been diagnosed as being at a level of a 2 year old....he is only 16 months! But....there will always be that thought in the back of my head...
SO.....never feel stupid, or dum...or anything...it's your choice....and your money you are spending. If I had had a blood test done one day earlier....nothing of that would have happened!
Good luck
