I have pain and some swelling in the left side of my neck going on 7 weeks now, the doctors can't decide if it's the Lymph node or sinus gland issue, I have pain when I swallow but I don‘t have a cold, I have been to urgent care twice and treated with two different kinds of antibiotics, then I went to my doctor who treated me with antibiotics for my sinus gland and not lymph node swelling which didn't help so he sent me to see a nose, ear, neck specialist who scoped my throat and couldn't find anything wrong but gave me a eating regiment, pills for acid reflex and told me to flush my sinuses each morning which hasn’t helped and now along with my throat problems I now have pain under my left ear lobe when I swallow. Two Urgent Care doctors, my general practitioner and ENT specialist haven't been able to isolate this problem. . My wife wants me to go to her Traditional Chinese Herbalist.
Can you suggest anything that they may have missed? Is this a antibiotic solution? Thanks Ron

where in your neck?lower part or upper part?
if lower part of neck and you have tenderness you should think about thyroditis,and do u have any other syptoms??

Thanks for responding, I watched Dr. David Brownstein video on Thyroid Disorders and of the over 25 symptoms to look for, other than elevated cholesterol levels, I didn't have any of the symptoms, so I pretty much dismissed it.
I'm getting ready to post a update which you might find interesting.

As it turns out the pain beneath my ear got so bad that my wife called her Chinese Herbalist, who opened up her office for me on Sunday the 19th, she gave me herbs, in her office, to reduce the pain and two bags of medicine to take home. Ive been back to see her Friday the 24th for more medicine and this morning I called my ENT specialist to cancel my follow up appointment for the 29th. Although Im not completely healed I feel significantly better!
Two months of failed antibiotics and 3 weeks of herbal medicine and now Im almost completely healed.

It is always necessary to have right level of thyroid hormone in the blood to function the system properly.Why not you test your thyroid hormone level?
