Q: Weakness and pain in legs

My son has been very unwell now for three weeks, he won't eat anything his weight was 26.3kg and is now 21.2. He will only have fluids, he has weakness and pain in both legs with red blotches a bit like bruises on shins, the Doctor on Friday has ordered blood tests after finding multiple lymph nodes enlarged, a rash on his legs and back of neck which is very itchy and he keeps scratching his skin even though I can't see anything. Temperatures every night around about 38.6 just after he goes to sleep, usually he has no temperatures through the day. He had a week of vomiting on the first week of the three weeks and has this very strange color to his face and feet almost a pale to yellow tinge. Doctor wrote on blood request ; multiple lymphadenopathy with generalized abdominal pain worse in epigastric region.

We have a public holiday tomorrow so should I be taking my Son to the Children's Hospital as he is feeling weaker. This is just not like him at all, he's normally running around non stop and I'm telling him to slow down.
It's heart breaking watching him not move from his bed and needing help to the toilet.

Would you think this is now classed as an emergency or not? He was breathless coughing last night and is not asthmatic and doesn't have a chest infection.

Thank you for reading my post,

Julia sun

Extremely eHealthy
You need to take your son to the ER right away. It sounds like he is very sick and need emergency care.

Good luck, and please, when you have a chance, let us know how your son is doing and what he is diagnosed with.

My prayers are with you.

Thank you all for your honest reply's. My Son is currently at the childrens hospital having tests. He's not very well but is in the right place.

Always go with your instinct as I listen to a doctor a week ago that thought it was just a virus, then the next day went to another doctor that said it was an infection and put him on antibiotics and ordered bloods. No one said get him to hospital even though they should have told me that I found out. His color of his skin say's it all and he has abnormalities in his blood with his liver and white cells. Seeing specialist in the morning.
