Q: Weak ankle and calf twitching

I am concerned over two issues I have. No, I don't have an MS diagnosis.

First, is my left ankle that does not always want to hold me up. This has been an increasing problem over the past months and this week in particular, especially when I am descending stairs. Gratefully I have not fallen yet, but I have come close.

Second, is that my muscles in my left Calf twitch...sometimes constantly.

Should I concerned?

I see my neurologist at the end of June, should I bring this up to him?

Thanks for any feedback you can provide!

Did I just ask a ridiculous question? No one can comment. I could use the advice before my June neurologist appoint, which is for a different degenerative neurological disorder.

I don't want to go into the June appt seeming like an alarmist over something that sounds so simple...just a weak ankle and twitching muscles in the same leg.

I did do my homework before asking the above question and there are patients in the world with both diseases/conditions.

Hi
I just got online and saw your post..I don't think this is a ridiculous question..Seeing a neurologist would be what I suggest so you're already a step ahead..

I have Restless leg where my leg will twitcha nd jerk and I have to move it or I get this really weird but awful feeling until I move..I have also had the stumbling and weak legs..I see a Neurologist and am on Requip for the RLS (restless leg syndrome) I don't know if you can relate to my issue but if you can you are headed int he right direction regardless..I hope you get answers grandmaC..

Thank you for the reply. I have PD and RLS too. I clearly understand the have to move it or else comment. RLS is a very, very uncomfortable feeling. It bothers me the most when I have been on my feet a good deal during the day.

I am very concerned (and a bit scared) about the weakness of my left ankle and the twitching muscles in my left calf. I can ONLY assume the two are related.

I read recently that there are 81 patients in the world that have both MS and PD...I certainly don't need to be #82!!

Don't hold anything back from your neurologist...he/she will be the one to make the decision whether it is related or not...

It could be the one piece of the puzzle that is needed to make a correct diagnosis.

Good Luck,

~Zig
