I need a little help! I am breastfeeding my 11 month old (number 6) and still haven't had a period. My husband and I haven't had intercourse for awhile but did about a week ago (using the now I've learned not so foolproof withdrawal method). I have since experienced some abdominal bloating and tenderness (like the onset of a period), watery, clear vaginal discharge (no odor or itching), more frequent urination and it's more painful to nurse, but still no period... What's going on? Can it just be hormones or what are the possibilities?

There are few possibilities including pregnancy.
Women are usually protected from pregnancy while breastfeeding because high levels of the hormone prolactin prevent ovulation. Without ovulation the periods could be missing or very rare. The period of time while protected is longer as the breastfeeding lasts longer. You can do a pregnancy test to check if you are pregnant or not.
Vaginal infection is another possible reason for vaginal discharge and that can be checked by your gynecologist.
