Want to skip period
Posted: 07-10-08 22:40pm

Hi! I am going on vacation next Thursday (a week from today) and I think I am supposed to get my period in or around that time (the problem is I didn't write down when I had my last period! But I'm pretty sure it was almost a month ago). So, I wanted to try skipping it, which I really knew nothing about before tonight. I found out that you have to throw out the inactive pills (I take Necon) and immediately start a new pack (with active pills). This is a problem because I've already taken sun, mon, tues, wed and thurs worth of the inactive pills!
I've seen some other people posting on here about possibly just skipping a couple of days worth of inactive pills, which is what I would have to do, obviously, seeing as I am already five days into them. I was just wondering does this work?? If I just skip 2 days of sugar pills and immediately start taking a new pack, I'm assuming it won't suppress my period but even if it could get pushed back a couple days that would be great!! Does anyone have any suggestions about this? I'm pretty confused about this whole process... my other concern is, will just skipping two days of sugar pills mess anything up? I think I would rather just not deal with this whole process, than try to skip a couple days worth of pills and end up getting a weeks worth of bleeding and cramps, which seems to be a side effect that some people on this board have gotten!
Sorry for such a long message but I REALLY could use this help with this!!

If you want to skip your NEXT expected period you don't need to skip the PRESENT period. You should throw out the inactive pills from the next pack if you want to skip the next expected period. You don't need to throw out the inactive pills from the present pack that you have been finishing these days.
So you can continue taking the inactive pills from the present pack as schedule and when come to the inactive pills from the next pack you can throw them out and start a new pack right after it.
