For years and years I've went to bed, fallen into a light sleep and wake up with what my husband calls fits. He's tried to hold me down several times and I am strong enough to pull free and fly out of bed each time. I always have bruises all over from banging into furniture. It just feels like I awaken to a surge of electric energy through my body and brain and weird breathing and my body stiffens and contorts all over . But I feel fear and must just get out of the bed. I then become fully aware and just get back into bed only to wake seconds or minutes later and do the whole thing again. The cyle continues all night and for maybe 2 weeks at a time and then it gets better. Always worse right before my period. Also I awoke once to "the feeling" & tried with all my body and mind not to jump out of bed but I couldn't do it. I finally after all these years have an appt with a neuro next month. Does this mean it is not seizures because I actually awaken with one and know I'm having it? Thank you
