At 1:30 I was awakened by my throat\'s gagging reflex> I also noticed a lot of blood in my mouth and sputum afterwards I was asymptomatic and went back to sleep. What\'s going on?

Hello and thank you for posting your medical question on E health forum.

Your symptoms of severe bleeding in the mouth and that in the sputum, indicate an emergency situation indicating bleeding from the esophagus or the respiratory tract.

You might consider visiting the ER at the earliest so that the condition can diagnosed at the earliest and effective treatment be provided. You might need to undergo endoscopic studies of the respiratory tract and a esophagogastro duodenoscopy (EGD).
