Q: Waiting to have sex after fetal delivery

my question is why do women have to wait 6 weeks after having a baby to have sex?

Vaginal and Uterus Health Answer A4724
Women should wait 6 weeks after delivery to have sex because the womb needs that time to repair its inner layer (endometrium). There is increased risk for womb infections if a woman has sex before the endometrium is healed completely.
