Hi, I am on the Yaz birth control pill. This morning I threw up a little because of motion sickness, and I think it was around 3 - 4.5 hours after taking my pill. My boyfriend had a vasectomy 18 days ago. Since I already took my pill, I don't have an extra one to take. Would I need to wait 7 days to have sex without a condom, or is the time period/vasectomy enough?

I think you will be fine. Women don't have to worry about throwing up unless it has been two hours or less since they took the pill. "If you took your pill two hours or more before you vomited, then it is unlikely that you will need a replacement pill. If you vomit within two hours of taking your pill, you should consider that pill 'missed' and take another from a separate pack as soon as you can keep things down. "

Thanks; however, in the info pamphlet that comes with the pills, it mentioned vomiting within 3 to 4 hours after taking the pill. I had forgotten to mention that in the previous post.

Better safe than sorry, I always say. There is no way to know if you had absorbed enough of the hormone(s) before vomiting. So I would use a backup method for the next week or until your next period, whichever comes first. (Granted, I have always been hypervigilant about birth control and nearly always doubled up on protection.)
