Q: Vocal Cord Dysfunction or Hyperventilation Syndrome ?

I started having breathing trouble on August 15th of this year. I feel like my breathing is shallow and I can't get a deep breath in very often. I often times cannot complete a yawn because the air just isn't there. About 8 weeks ago I went to the lung specialist and was told I have asthma and was put on Flovent and Xopenex, neither are helping. I've done some research and found that Vocal Cord Dysfunction mimics asthma symptoms and that Hyperventilation Syndrome has similar symptoms. Does anyone have either of the latter two? If so tell me your story and give me some helpful information! THANKS!
