Q: Vitamins instead of fruits & veggies ?

Question Hello, my first time on this website. I want to start with I love fruit and most vegtables, but I just don't buy them enough at all. I do take a Multi-vitamin every day though. My question is while I know nothing replaces good old fruits and veggies, especially as I get older can a multi-vitamin help me in dealing with my worry about lack of Fruit & Veggies?
Thanks for any help,
cooldep

It may help, but it isn't the answer; just portion your fruit consumption in intervals; have 5 or more servings (not five or more ftuits; too much sugar)of fruit, though balance citrus/non-citrus, depending on your acid levels.

Thank you friskyolive. Do you think that a daily Multi Vitamin also helps though. It can't take its place (Vitamin can't take Fruits) place but does it at least help some? Thanks again for quick Reply. This panic is all about turning the BIG 60 this year Smile) Time for change!!!

Multi vitamins are good source when not achieving adequate nutrients/vitamins, and take into consideration that as the body declines, you body requires more nourishment; but make sure to keep moving/excersizing! Smile I'm turning 40 in a couple of years, so I'm completing my first hurdle, heheh. Take care, and happy 60th!

no!
reason why is i force myself to eat fruits and vegetables. when i just take a multivitamin, i dont go to the bathroom. when i eat fruits and vegetables i go almost 2 to 3 times a day.
i have taken fiber choice to accommodate me. but by experience is there is nothing better than eating the real thing.
i already have high blood pressure and high cholesterol so i try my best to eat right.

High bood pressure and cholesteral, does not equate to a healthey diet. Too many fruits, grains, salts can/will contribute to high blood pressure, inactivity, and too much of the wrong type of fats, you may be eating, depending on your nutritional type. To lessen high blood pressure, eat a clove of garlic (just swallow it) and some celery sticks. Or feed the pharms and some presciptions.
