Greetings ehealth forums mates.

I have an issue which i need rectification

One of my friend told me by taking a certain type of vitamin, one would be able to have higher tolerance for alcohol. To simply put it, can any type of vitamins actually help slow down the effects of alcohol?

Does something like that even exists?

Tolerance is the decrease in sensitivity to alcohol that develops with repeated exposures to alcohol over time. People who develop high tolerance (low sensitivity) to alcohol are at increased risk for becoming alcohol dependent and potential alcoholics.

B vitamins and water are required to metabolize alcohol. But here is no way to speed up the metabolism of alcohol...there are some drugs which try to counteract some of the effects of alcohol, but since alcohol is so well absorbed and distributed throughout the body, it is truly difficult to develop an effective medication to control its effects.
