Hi there guys, I decided it was time for me to finally start this project up. I've made promises to try getting it done in the past, but alas, chemistry 101 and 102 kept me busy this summer =P. I know, no excuses, but I had to spit something out. I will be working on this periodically today and so on, though it may look highly unfinished, it is only because I wanted to save the current work by posting what I have written thus far.

Purpose of this thread: An all in one information thread on each of the vitamins, what they do exactly, daily recommendations, side effects and risks if taken in excess or deprived, etc.

Reason for this thread: To organize general information on vitamins that people may be searching for into one sole page and thus hopefully make things more convenient for users.

General Terminologies
Vitamin: Essential carbon containing molecular (organic) substances required in a diet for regulation of the various chemical reactions/processes, along with maintenance of functioning and growth in the body. The conditions to be classified as a vitamin:
1. If the body cannot synthesize enough of the compound to maintain health
2. If deficiency of the compound over a defined period of times causes negative symptoms which can be cured given that the victim was resupplied with the deficient compound quickly enough.
Fat soluble vitamins: Vitamins that dissolves in fat (given) and other hydrophobic/immiscible compounds, but does not readily dissolve in water.
Fat soluble vitamins - Vitamins A, D, E, and K
Water soluble vitamins: Vitamins that dissolve in water (given).
Water soluble vitamins - B and C vitamins.
Megadose: Intake of a nutrient significantly greater then recommended in a balanced diet in an attempt to prevent a deficiency related disease (such as scurvy - the result of lack of vitamin C), or other diseases. Note that this is a medical procedure/administration, not on an individual's decision or whim.
