Hi I’m hoping someone can help me. I was diagnosed about 3 or 4 months ago with vitamin B12 deficiency and pernicious anaemia. I had been having problems for possibly years with severe fatigue, pins and needles in my hands and feet as well as quite bad memory loss. In the end a very kind doctor found the problem on my first visit to him after he took some blood tests.
Since then I have been having B12 injections every Monday Wednesday and Friday. I have had some improvements mainly with my memory but the fatigue still remains although someday its copable, but in all it is better than it was. I tend not to sleep good at night due to the pain in my hands during night, mainly my left arm and hand.
The thing that has worried me most is the fact that I have lost the ability to write with my left hand being left handed this has caused lots of problems even my signature is almost impossible to do also some times the pains in my hand drive me up the wall.
My doctor has said it maybe possible nerve damage that has cause the problem due to the B12 deficiency.
Since the injections I have not had any improvement in this hand I was wondering if there is anything I can do that will help me get it better. I have tried to exercise it but it seems to make the pins and needle pains worse when I do, is, there any way of helping problems like this and do you think it is linked to the B12 deficiency.
