Q: Vitamin B12 and Yasmin?

I have been on Yasmin for almost a month now. When I looked up other medications/vitamins that could interact with Yasmin, I noticed that vitamin B12 was one. Now, I take a Vitamin B12 tablet daily and I never knew it could interact with Yasmin. Would anyone be able to tell me what exactly it does? Does it prevent the pill from working just like Saint Johns Wort? Just curious because I am sexually active and was planning on relying on just the pill after this pack. Don't want to take any chances!

Thanks in advance. Smile

I think its the other way around.

Birth control affects your B12 levels so I'm pretty sure they encourage women to take supplements.

Before you fully rely on birth control pills, make sure your doctor is aware of whatever else you are taking on a daily basis so he/she can tell you what may interact. But I'm certain B12 does not affect your pills.
