It's hard to explain and just wondering what this might bea symptom of...but when i'm depressed I get visions and images of blood, cutting, slicing, hurting myself or others and I sort of know they aren't real...as in they aren't tangible but they dont' go away and I try to push them out of my brain and they just keep coming back and racing a hundred miles a minute. This is slightly disturbing because I'm not a violent person at all!

well that's the thing, I'm not diagnosed as bipolar. And I'm off my meds and i feel great. It's just that this only happens when I'm depressed. It's hard for me to be on meds because by the time I seek help, it's usually by spring and I'm already naturally coming out of my depression. My depression is usually in the winter, but honestly it can come in the summer too. I've had many depressions in between but I've had atleast 3 major ones. The last one lasted roughly 6-8 months and it was the worst hell I've ever been in. But now I'm back to normal and it's like it didn't even happen. I'm just wondering if the visions actually had anything to do with bipolar....or whatever they are....

Some people experience these types of hallucinations during depression. They can occur in mania as well. You almost sound like you are experiencing a mixed state. This is when you are depressed but have some symptoms of mania during the depressive episode. You should go back to your doctor now and report this. It can be controlled with medication.

Getting these kind of hallucinations can be a sign that your potential bipolar disorder is taking worse course and needs to be controlled with meds.
Antigone has right about possibility of experiencing mixed episodes (this kind of episodes also tend to occur more often when the bipolar is left untreated)
Bipolar disorder with its episodes is known to have seasonal pattern of appearance.
These hallucinations can be a side effect of using some antidepressants, too.

Visiting a psychiatrist will be a good idea!
