hey guys!! i have a quick question about something that recently worried me slightly,
i've recently re-joined my gym after a year off (i never really worked out that much, but i stayed healthy)
i'm a 23 year old male at 6ft 1, i'm of very athletic build (maybe a little too slim if anything) have a recent history of panic attacks which i have learned to control in recent months, and a low-normal blood pressure,

anyway, my first session in the gym was conducted by the mother of all slave drivers, he made me work my legs so hard that i could barely stand, and it was very intense compared to what i was used to a year previously,
i managed to get through the entire workout (god forbid my masculinity should be compromised in a gym of all places!)

but around 3 hours later i was back at work and my vision became extremely blurred in my left eye, i could hardly see my colleagues features who were sat next to me, and concentrating on words was impossible, i could still see my surroundings but a larghe part of it was missing or blurry, and i could make out a small multi coloured line across my eye...

does anyone klnow what this is? it dissapeared after my manager brought a first aider to take me for a walk outside, and my vision returned to normal, and now (apart from my poor aching legs) i feel fine.. i had no other symptoms apart from this and i'f drank plenty of water after my gym session,

please help??

kindest regards

mark j

Extremely eHealthy
It is a good idea to see your ophthalmologist, since a one-sided blurry vision and seeing line across the eye vision, can indicate retinal detachment.
Exercise that results in increasing blood pressure, leads to increased eye pressure and possible retinal detachment.
Also, these symptoms could be due to transient ischemic attack (transient disturbances of the blood supply to a localized part of the brain, which produce a temporary, focal lesion).
The symptoms occur rapidly and last a relatively short time, between 2 and 15 minutes, although such an event could conceivably last as long as 24 hrs.
There is no brain damage after a TIA, but, you might be at greater risk for a brain stroke.

Visit your physician since the both possible conditions in your case warrants medical attention.

Best wishes!
