Hi, I'm covered in rashes everywhere on my body for about 1 week and a half now.. I've been to a dermatologist which told me it was a viral skin infection and that I would have to just wait it out... so far it hasn't gotten any better. She did a skin culture just in case and it came back negative for bacteria. What concerns me is that even where there are no rashes (my face and back) I could see that the skin texture is really strange it's all bumpy and really really dry. Also I can see that the skin around my eyes is very swollen... it's more noticeable when I smile. I haven't been using any lotions for fear that it will make my skin worse.... I really don't know what to do any more because my skin is so itchy, I'm covered in scabs and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I've been taking zyrtec and zantac for the itching and I have also been using Caladryl. Yesterday I discovered apple cider vinegar is supposed to work wonders on rashes and applied that to my skin which did work miracles... it left me practically itch free for about 2-3 hours and seems to have made my skin much less itchy in general. I'm just really worried about how long it's taking to go away and how it hasn't really gotten any better... should I insist on seeing my dermatologist again?
