Q: Viral Ear Inner Ear Infection

So I went to my ENT on Wed. and he said I had a viral inner ear infection....something to do with my balance canals. He said "Don't worry, it's a pretty normal condition it takes a few weeks to go away, and I can't give you anything for it since it's viral."

I have a ton of nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and a loss of appetite....is this normal? I've felt this way for about a week.

How long do these things last?

Thanks!

Hi, if it was bacteria (instead of virus), then a penicillin like med would be indicated to remove the infection. Pain/redness would be present in such an ear infection by bacteria, at least it was with me (intense pain in inner ear which penicillin cured right away).
