Okay so lately ive been having some really bad sharp pains when i breathe i have been getting them alot in my chest, ribs, back, upper, middle, and lower parts of my stomach and on my sides and under my breasts but one day it will be in one spot then in another the next day. now ive had 2 doctors tell me that its because im a little over weight and they just push it away and say i am only complaining cause im fat!!! which is not true but honestly i feel in my heart that theres something really wrong going on. the other day i was laying in bed relaxing when all of the sudden i got sever sharp pains in my chest when i tried to breathe, so i would take very very small breathes almost as small as not breathing and i actually had to hold my breathe til i couldn't anymore and i had to deal with the pain for that minute. now luckily for me it doesn't happen everyday but its becoming much more frequent lately and honestly im terriffied! idk what to do, and about a month ago i had just one night got violently ill and i had sever vomiting, dry heaving, head ache, sensitivity to light, sound, touch, neausea, dizzyness, light headed-ness, weak, shakey, loss of voice, sever stomach pain sever cramping, diarreah, and spotting in the beginning followed by a severe loss of blood, fever, loss of appitite, trouble keeping anything down, tierdness, hot and cold sweats and etc.and now i have a very sore throat thats swollen and im having a lot of trouble swollowing and breathing!!!. and when i went to the hospital they couldnt find anything wrong cause none of the symptoms seemed to pin point on one thing. but at first they thought i was having a misscarriage but thankfully that was negative! but no one seems to know whats going on so if anyone can give me some insight or ideas please let me know! thanks so much every1

you know whats funny.. I have had the exact same thing. except i never got the vomiting and all that nice stuff. but the sharp pains when i breathe.. it happens to me occasionally. Now ill tell you this. I just got out of the Marine Corps and I was in awesome shape. I think its just one of those things. cause i have had multiple check ups and never once has anything been said or found in me.

It really makes me mad when I hear about doctors focusing on one thing about a person and dismissing anything else that could possibly be wrong with them. It mostly happens to overweight people and people with depression. It's like they can't possibly have anything else wrong with them that isn't related to that.

Sorry, just had to rant for a second. I'm better now.

Did they do an abdominal ultrasound? If not, they need to. It sounds like you may be having gallbladder attacks. Do you notice that the pain is worse after you eat, especially a fatty meal? Does it hurt to press below your ribs on the right side? You already said you had nausea, which also fits. It also sounds like you have a fever, which indicates an infection. It could also be a lung infection, so ask for a chest x-ray or a chest CT on top of the abdominal ultrasound and blood tests. Make sure they also check your kidneys.

You need to go back to your doctor right away and insist that he take your symptoms seriously. Don't let him dismiss you, shame you, or anything because of your weight. You are in charge of your own health care. You pay him, remember that. Be nice, but firm. Tell him that you are really concerned that it is something else and even if it is because of your weight, that doesn't mean that it's not serious or that there isn't something that can be done.

You said you were afraid of having a miscarriage? So you're pregnant? If that's the case, I think it's especially unconscionable that the doctors would dismiss a pregnant woman complaining of chest pains.

Good luck to both of you. Please write back and tell us how things turned out.
