Q: VERY early MMC

I had positive tests at the start of last month, around the 6-8th.
I tested 2 weeks later, the test was infact NEGATIVE.
i called my GP up today, as my dating scan was sent through the post yesterday, and i needed to know what may be going on.

Although the pregnancy was very early, it would have been called a 'chemical pregnancy' but i havent started to bleed yet, so its classed as a MMC.
The GP told me to keep my ultrasound appointment, where they will do an internal examination and if they find the failed pregnancy, will offer a D&C.

My question is, will they even find anything??? The test i took could detect pregnancy from as early as 10 days after implantation. This is very early!

What happens if they cant spot anything? will they still do a D&C or induce a bleed??
I need closure. I keep having this false hope that things are Ok when i KNOW theyre not, and by not bleeding its just tormenting me...

I am so sorry for what you are going through. I can't speak for you or give your medical advice since I am not a doctor, but I can share my own expeirence. But before I start, it is always better to have everything confirmed medically to see how low the HCG levels are. I have lost three pregnancies within the first trimester (Low HCG levels are never a good sign, but I also know women who were pregnant but their urine test, tested negative.) I have lost one last year before I missed my first menstruation. ( Chemical pregnancy.) But with my other miscarriages, they did not do a D&C. After the test came back negative, they apologized for my lost. Please know, I had normal menstruations for the first trimester. But with my last lost, late in the second trimester, the didn't do anything for two weeks. I had to go into shock first. Point being, if something is wrong, demand to get seen. Its your body. And if your GP is not taking care of you, go see someone who will. They should have you come in right away for the ultrasound, and if they don't see anything, they should confirm it with a blood test. Again, I am so sorry you have to go through this.

Best,
